Phoenix Equipment Announces Availability of Glycerin To Epichlorohydrin Plant

Overview

Available for immediate purchase, the Glycerin To Epichlorohydrin (GTE), designed DBO (Desmet Ballestra Oleo and commissioned in 2012 and shut down in 2013. Total capacity is 12000 TPY and the plant consist of 2 production trains: 1 - Glycerin purification unit, the technology and designer are DBO (Desmet Ballestra Oleo). 99.5% final product (Technical Glycerin) is obtained after 80%-85% crude glycerol goes through multi-stage distillation and rectification. 2- Production of dichloropropanols (DCP). Technical glycerin is subjected to multistage hydrochlorination by wet and dry method to obtain the final product (DCP) during the process. Original design data and documentation is available.

Process Summary

The GTE (Glycerin to Epichlorohydrin) process has three major steps:

1- Glycerin Purification
80% - 85% crude glycerol goes through multi-stage distillation/rectification. By the end of this process; 99.5% Technical glycerin can is obtained.

2- DCP Production
Technical glycerin is subjected to multistage hydrochlorination by wet and dry method to obtain the final product (DCP) during the process

3-DCP to Epichlorohydrin
The plant has no process equipment to produce Epichlorohydrin.

Note: Each production train can be purchased separately.
