Unused dewaxing oil crystallization plant designed by Sulzer Chemtech to process 13,000 TPY of slack wax. The plant includes two sections: Production and Energy. The Sulzer crystallization batch process comprises so-called layer crystallization: the crystals are not freely suspended in the melt, from which they are grown, but they are frozen out as crystalline layers on cooled crystallization surfaces like tube or plate walls. The most important benefits of such crystallization are: (1) no moving parts except standard pumps and valves for handling liquids; (2) no filtration, centrifuging or cyclones; (3) no slurry handling, incrustations or blockages; (4) no use of solvents or agents. All these benefits make the operation easy.
