Project Overview

Agrofarma acquired the former P&G site in Norwich, New York, including an API pilot plant containing process equipment it did not intend to use. Phoenix Equipment purchased the equipment and assumed responsibility for clearing it from the building while preserving the facility for future use.

The project included more than 75 pieces of process equipment. Before liquidation and removal began, Phoenix conducted an on-site auction to market the assets to potential buyers. The approximately $850,000 project ran from March through August 2013.

The Challenge

Agrofarma had acquired equipment that did not fit its plans for the Norwich site, but the building itself still had value. The objective was to recover value from the surplus process equipment while clearing the former API pilot plant in a way that allowed the space to be reused.

On-Site Auction & Equipment Removal

Phoenix conducted an on-site auction before beginning the equipment liquidation and removal process. After the sale, Phoenix removed more than 75 pieces of process equipment while preserving the building for reuse, ultimately converting the former process area into usable storage space.
