- Shut-down Pharma Plant Re-Started
Animal Health Fermentation Facility - Indiana, USA
After several years of marketing a 10-acre animal health fermentation facility, a major pharmaceutical manufacturer was unable to develop a buyer. Phoenix Equipment purchased the site and took responsibility for all carrying costs, including taxes, utilities, security and environmental condition. After 18 months, we re-sold the facility to be re-utilized to make a different animal health product to a US-based company. Several of the former employees were re-hired and the plant is once again operational.
- Total Decommissioning & Complete Environmental Remediation
Titanium Dioxide Facility - Sayreville, NJ
Phoenix Equipment was selected to perform a major turnkey decommissioning, decontamination, and dismantlement project at NL Industries’ closed titanium dioxide plant, 80 MG power plant, and adjacent sulfuric acid plant. The comprehensive project was performed over 18 months and was separated into four distinct phases:
- Purchase and Removal of Specialty Chemical Complex
(5) Year Demolition & Investment Recovery Project - Niagara Falls, NY
Occidental invested significant capital to expand and upgrade its downstream chlorine activities in the late 1990’s. However, due to unfavorable business conditions, Occidental decided to close units. After Occidental Chemical was unable to sell its idled downstream chlorine assets at its Niagara Falls, NY complex, there was compelling reasons for them to demolish non-operating buildings and remove the assets from site. This project was initially budgeted to be a $15,000,000 cost.
- Helping Clients Perform Lease Termination Obligations
Purchase of 600,000 Gallon Tank Farm - Alabama, USA
Phoenix purchased a 600,000 gallon tank farm and unloading station operation that was closed down. As part of our purchase we removed all assets from site, including a large concrete retaining wall, restoring the property to Greenfield.
- Chemical Plant Relocated from Germany to Egypt
EDC/VCM & PVC Plants - Germany
Phoenix purchased a complete EDC/VCM and PVC plant for resale. The equipment was sold for relocation to Egypt. We paid for the demolition of parts of the plant that were not sold. The owner received significant revenue from the sale of the assets and minimized expenditures in regards to the removal of all of the structures and ancillary parts that were not viable to relocate.
- Performing and Managing a $12,000,000 Comprehensive Plant Closure Project
DuPont - New Jersey, USA
Our team was selected to perform a major decommissioning, decontamination, and dismantlement project at DuPont iTechnologies facility in Parlin, NJ. DuPont had decided to close a majority of the facility, however, the closure was spread out over two years and in different sections. Despite this challenge, our understanding of the value of the process assets allowed us to perform the project at a more competitive price than a remediation or demolition company.
We were able to work with in DuPont's scheduling and phasing of the project, as well as accommodate additional sections, and complete the entire project on schedule. The project consisted of over twenty-five buildings, and the scope of work included decontamination of process vessels, asbestos abatement, rigging of usable proces
