Plant Description

Phoenix Equipment Corporation has this used Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) plant immediately available. The MEK dewaxing unit is a part of a lube oil complex to produce lube feed stock. The unit is a crystallization process that takes its charge from G-oil dehydrator bottoms. Its purpose is to remove high pour point material (wax) from the lube base stocks (waxy distillate). The oil is separated from the solvent by flash distillation and a final stripper using nitrogen supplied by the compressor in the waxy distillate recovery section. The wax is separated from the solvent by flash distillation and a final stripper using nitrogen supplied by the compressor in the slack wax recovery sections. The original process was designed by TEXCO. The plant was upgraded in 1989.
