Plant Description
Phoenix Equipment Corporation has this used AKD Wax plant immediately available.
Fatty acid chloride, triethylamine and toluene are subject to a batch reaction in a glass lined vessel at 65°C. The corresponding ketene and then the diketene (AKD wax) are formed. The reaction mass is decanted and then extracted. The extract is then steam vacuumed distilled. This is a fine tuned totally recovering process. Toluene as well as unreacted triethylamine are recovered in the work up and reintroduced in the next batch. The process is automated (ABB).
