Ammonium Nitrate Plant
- Plant# 273
- Capacity 100,000 TPY
Plant Description
This plant stopped production in 2009. It produced approximately 100,000 MTY of ammonium nitrate, or 80,000 MTY calcium ammonium nitrate (both calculated by 100% concentration).
The process consists of the following stages:
- Ammonia evaporation and conditioning of the air necessary for the cooling of the granulated ammonium nitrate.
- Neutralization of 56% nitric acid with gaseous ammonia.
- Primary evaporation of the ammonium nitrate solution under vacuum.
- Secondary evaporation of the ammonium nitrate solution.
- Granulation of the ammonium nitrate.
- Cooling of the ammonium nitrate granules.
- Conditioning
In 2008, the 5th melting pumps manufactured by Egger Switzerland were mounted replacing the older.
