Overview

The membrane cell electrolysis system is designed for manufacturing H3P02. Hypo Acid). Water, electricity and NaHYPO is fed into the cell system, 02 and H2 are removed separately, H3P02 are the product. The entire system was supplied in 1998. The capacity is 706 TPY with a down time of 15%. So it means a practical capacity of 600 TPY. It was supplied by Aqua Tech Cell. The electrodialysis is as follows: The treated salt solution is processed in the Aqualytics electrodialysis system. The process is made up of the following components: * The process area, where the process equipment and instrumentation are located. * The power supply, which supplies DC power the cell stack skid. * Cell stack skid which contains the membranes; The Aqualytics system requires deionized water feed (included). Deionized water is supplied from a unit that is fed cooled ( <38 degrees C) steam condensate water from a sodium hypophosphite evaporator steam chest. The Aqualytics system requires a purified sodium hypophosphite solution feed. Sodium hypophosphite solution is passed through the CSK cation exchange system, where hardness ( Calcium or Magnesium) is removed to <1ppm total hardness. The aqualytics system employs the use of: * A bipolar membrane. * An Anion selective membrane. * A Cation selective membrane. The entire system consists of the following components: -150 gallon HOPE tank for 15% Hype Acid, Mfg. by Chem Tamer. -Acid pump, made of PP size 1 1/2 x 1 1/2, rated 45 GPM, driven by 1 HP 3160/460V 3600 RPM motor. -Acid filter, (north), Mfg by Trumpler- Clancy/ Filtrite, made of PPrated 20 GPM c~ 125 PSI, with 10 micron cartridge. -Acid filter (south), identical to the one above. -NaOH base tank, made of HDPE, Mfg by Chem- Tamer, 55 gallons. -Base pump, Mfg by Pertech mdl MDH 401 CV6, rated 45 GPM c~ 46 TDH, driven by 1 HP 3/60/460V 3600 RPM motor. -Base cooler, 22.6 Sq. Ft. plate heat exchanger, 316SS, Mfg. by Alfa Laval, rated 92500 BTU/Hr. -Base filter, (west), made of PP, Mfg. by Trumpler- Clancy/ filtrite, with 10 micron cartridge, rated 20 GPM (~ 125 PSI. -Base filter (east), same as above. -Salt tank, made of HOPE, 55 gallons, Mfg by Chem Tamer. -Salt pump, made of PP, rated 45 GPM c~ 46 TDH, Mfg by Pertech MDH 401 CV6, driven by I HP 31601460V 3600 RPM motor. -Salt Filter (south), made of PP, Mfg. by Trumpler- Clancy, rated 20 GPM C~ 125 PSI, with 10 micron cartridge. -Salt filter (north), same as above. -Salt cooler, 22.6 Sq. Ft. 316 SS plate heat exchanger, mfg by Alfa Laval, rated 92580 BTU/ Hr. -Cathode rinse tank, made of HOPE, 15 gallons, Mfg by Chem tamer. -Cathode rinse pump, made of PP, Mfg by Pertech, MDH400CCVY, rated 14 GPM (~ 23 TDH, driven by 112 HP, 3160/460V 3500 RPM motor. -Cathode rinse filter, made of PP, rated 20 GPM @ 125 PSI, Mfg. by TrumplerClancy, with 10 micron cartridge. -Anode rinse tank, made of HOPE, 30 gallon, Mfg by Chem-Tainer. -Anode rinse pump, made of PP, Mfg by Pertech, type MDH400CCVy, rated 14 GPM @ 23T0H, driven by 1/2 HP 31601460V, 3500 RPM motor. -Anode rinse filter, made of PP, Mfg by Trumpler- Clancy, rated 20 GPM @ 125 PSI, with 10 micron cartridge. -Caustic mix tank, made of HOPE, 10 gallons, Mfg by Chem Tamer. -Cell Stack power supply, 250V0C1 600 A. - Cell stack mfg. by Aqualytics with a cell monorail hoist.
