Performing and Managing a $12,000,000 Comprehensive Plant Closure Project
DuPont - New Jersey, USA
Our team was selected to perform a major decommissioning, decontamination, and dismantlement project at DuPont iTechnologies facility in Parlin, NJ. DuPont had decided to close a majority of the facility, however, the closure was spread out over two years and in different sections. Despite this challenge, our understanding of the value of the process assets allowed us to perform the project at a more competitive price than a remediation or demolition company.
We were able to work with in DuPont's scheduling and phasing of the project, as well as accommodate additional sections, and complete the entire project on schedule. The project consisted of over twenty-five buildings, and the scope of work included decontamination of process vessels, asbestos abatement, rigging of usable process equipment for reuse and relocation, dismantlement, and demolition.
The project consisted of over twenty-five buildings, and the scope of work included decontamination of process vessels, asbestos abatement, rigging of usable process equipment for reuse and relocation, dismantlement, and demolition. Also, several structures needed to be dismantled from active portions of the site which required engineering analysis and surgical demolition techniques.
Major Equipment we were able to market and sell to reduce the overall cost of the project included: Glass Lined Tanks, Stainless Steel Reactors, Stainless Steel Tanks, Filtration Systems, Chillers and Centrifugal Pumps.
Our ability to market process equipment directly to end users allows us to capture the true value of used equipment, and reduce the real costs of plant closure activities that we perform.
Key Notes
We were able to sell and relocate a complete film coating line to India through our worldwide investment recovery activities, helping drastically reduce the demolition and dismantlement costs associated with that portion of the facility.
